Enemas
Sticking our detox where the sun doesn’t shine!
Coffee enemas have been used for many years and were in the Merck Manual, a
standard medical text for decades until the 1970s, when it was displaced in favour of drug therapy.
People often find instant pain reduction, clarity of thought, reduction in brain fog, and, accelerated healing when doing the enemas.
A coffee enema stimulates the liver to dump bile by the absorption of the coffee into the haemorrhoidal veins and then into the portal vein. The chemicals, caffeine, theophylline, and, theobromine, stimulate relaxation of the smooth muscle causing dilation to blood vessels and bile ducts. This encourages deep cleansing of the colon by stimulating peristalsis.
In addition palminates, kaweol, and, cafestol found in coffee, promote the activity
of the key enzyme system, glutathione S-transferase to well above the normal
range. This enzyme group detoxifies a vast array of free radical chemicals from
the bloodstream.
The coffee is not absorbed into general circulation and is fine even for those
highly sensitive to drinking coffee.
Some people are used to doing 2litre enemas, but it is not necessary to undertake a ‘high’ enema as the action of the coffee takes place in the lower colon, the sigmoid colon.
Why do we need to do coffee enemas?
Once toxins have been filtered through the liver, they end up in the gut, waiting
to be eliminated. However, they can get reabsorbed, especially if the gut is leaky,
and the reabsorption of toxins further overburdens the detox system. The coffee
enema causes the liver to dump toxins into the lower bowel, for effective elimination from the body.
Some people have been able to remove food that has been stuck inside for a decade with enemas. You may feel like enemas sound unpleasant, but your body will thank you later!

The Enema Procedure
It is best to do the coffee enema after your normal morning poop. If you have not had a bowel movement, then clear the bowel with a fresh warm water enema before using the coffee. An enema is very simple, just follow these steps:
Step 1) Prepare the space
It’s best to do this next to your toilet.
Give yourself a nice space on the floor on a towel. You may also wish to give yourself a pillow, put on some relaxing music and ensure the room is nice and warm.
This is a sacred self-care practice.
Step 2. Prepare Enema
1) Place 2 tablespoons of organic enema coffee into a coffee plunger and add 500ml of boiled water. Use pure water, like distilled, reverse osmosis or good spring water.
2) Add coffee in stages to your enema beaker / bag and bring the quantity up to 1 litre in by adding cold water until it reaches the perfect body temperature.
3) Lubricate end of enema tube with some olive / coconut oil and release any air in the enema tube into the toilet.
Step 3. Begin Enema
1) Get into a position where you can insert the tube into your anus and insert. Relax breath and go slowly.
2) Lie down on your right side with your knees drawn up to the abdomen.
3) Open the tap / pinch clamp on the tube to allow liquid to flow into you. Turn off the flow if you need a break.
4) It will feel like you need to poo as the coffee enters you, be strong and hold it in.
5) Once liquid is all in, squeeze your butt muscles and remove the tube slowly, holding the fluid inside you.
Step 4. During Enema
1) Remain still, calm and breathe. After a few minutes on right side, turn onto your back.
2) After a few minutes turn to your left side.
3) Aim to hold the coffee for at least 15 minutes.
There may be strong waves of feeling like you need to release, try to keep the liquid held in while these feelings pass.
Step 5. Release
When ready, gently make your
way onto the toilet and let it flow
out. Never force the liquid, allow it be released naturally.
Sometimes there will be breaks, maybe for a few minutes, this doesn’t mean that the releasing is completely finished.
Step 6. Clean Equipment
Clean all equipment thoroughly.
You can sterilise it by pouring boiling water through it after use, and just prior to the next use, or with a 3% hydrogen peroxide solution - Rinse well after using this.
Important note
We recommend to only use organic medical grade coffee like this one if possible.
Standard coffee is usually high in chemicals and pesticides which can damage the liver and can often contain traces of mould.
